POSITION DESCRIPTON:
The Safety Coordinator will work directly with the Safety team, supporting operational and administrative departments. The position is responsible for coordinating regulatory compliance activities for all business unit locations, maintaining compliance with safety programs, and overseeing the Safety Management System.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports facility safety compliance as required by applicable regulations and written programs through regular contact with mill personnel and department managers.
- Coordinates all internal and external audits required by the company’s Safety Management System. This will include periodic audits of programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Develops and updates written procedures contained in the Safety Management System and coordinates activities to maintain compliance.
- Organizes activities within the facility to ensure compliance with safety and occupational health regulatory requirements and the Safety Management System.
- Participate in incident investigations. Review and approve all incidents entered into the incident management system and track all preventative and corrective actions completed by the departments.
- Develop and review publications such as safety by design innovations, safety grams, and Rapid Incident Alerts.
- Coordinate all Industrial Hygiene activities and statistical information including, but not limited to: Lead program monitoring, noise sampling, fit testing, radiation program monitoring, etc.
- Maintain Safety statistical records and/or charts for facility performance.
- Assist with Worker’s Compensation, loss prevention, and general liability issues.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor in Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of, and the ability to interpret and apply complex local, state, and federal safety and occupational health regulations such as OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, ASME, and NRC
- Requires experience conducting inspections and audits of safety related programs, policies, and procedures for both regulatory compliance and incident/injury prevention
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience
- Experience in industrial manufacturing processes and working environments
- Project management skills
- Previous experience with a comprehensive safety program (2-4 years)
- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Must provide proof of full Covid 19 Vaccination
LOCATION Iowa – Quad cities area (relocation assistance may be available)
