Gateway Sourcing, a professional staffing company, is helping our client hire a Regional IT Operations Manager.
Location: The position will be located in North Mobile, AL. A relocation package for a desirable candidate will be considered.
Position:
This is a permanent position. This person should have both experience and desire to work in a highly dynamic industrial environment without direct supervision. The Regional Manager works within the global organization of IT Operations to ensure the reliable operation of region-specific services in the IT infrastructure, security, and support domains, providing the highest level of quality support and service to the internal customers.
Essential Functions
Organizational Development
- Improve organizational effectiveness by reviewing the organization’s structure, identifying structural improvement opportunities, and recommending and implementing necessary changes
- Identify organizational gaps and develop staffing plans to strengthen the organization
- Develop training plans for all team members in support of individual career development
- Manager may have 10-12 direct reports providing various technical support, data analyst and continuous process improvement roles
- Establish succession plans to support career advancement for all team members
- Oversee the performance management process for regional IT Operations in alignment with company goals
IT Operations
- Provide oversight to service teams for ongoing operations of server and storage platforms, data networks, and client computing environments
- Ensure effective procedures are established and followed for change management, configuration management, and patch management
- Develop and maintain infrastructure service metrics to measure quality of service delivery and identify areas for improvement
Financial Planning and Management
- Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance to a capital plan (5 year planning horizon) for infrastructure projects
- Develop and maintain annualized IT operations-related expense budget and implement monthly review process to track budget vs. spending, documenting variances as applicable
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, and develop plans to achieve savings and track effectiveness
- Maintain and enhance the process of allocating costs to US business units
Supplier Management
- Establish and maintain supplier relationships for infrastructure-related services, and conduct routine evaluations of supplier performance
- Implement and manage supplier contracts for Infrastructure-related services, to include infrastructure hosting, voice and data network services, infrastructure consulting services contracts, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science degree (Masters preferred) in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or business administration with emphasis in computer-related courses OR equivalent professional work experience
- Minimum five years of demonstrated experience in leadership roles for enterprise infrastructure teams
- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure-related strategic planning and project management
- Experience in server and storage technologies, networking, Microsoft operating systems and infrastructure management toolsets
- Experience implementing and leading within ITIL and Lean IT framework
- Excellent organizational, team development and communication skills
TRAVEL: 25% regionally and possible international
