Gateway Sourcing is assisting this well-established international manufacturing company identify an experienced Developer/Analyst – Automation and Innovation

POSITION SUMMARY:

This developer of Automation & Innovation role will provide thought leadership and execution within the business, in areas of system and process automation. As part of a small team of technologists, with experience in new and emerging technologies, help the analyst seek out opportunities while engaged within each business function, and jointly develop business cases, which provide quick and lasting benefits to operations. Responsible for day-to-day management of these technologies, to ensure smooth operations that meet or exceed customer expectations. This is a business savvy technical role.

The Developer/Analyst will work closely with the Automation and Innovation IT manager, and with decision makers in the business units to develop applications which make the business more efficient, saving time, money, or helping to produce revenue. Recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions, that may be independent or extended into the Oracle eBusiness ERP.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with other IT managers and analysts, to lead automation and innovation solutions, planning projects, ensuring fully integrated solutions meet all business needs.
  • Provide thought leadership with automation and innovation technologies, to both the IT department and the business community.
  • Engage with business leaders, working closely with them to understand current and potential business processes and constraints, to aid in next level solutioning.
  • Seek out opportunities within the manufacturing, distribution, and corporate office functions, that will garner interest from the business leaders, and co-develop acceptable business cases.
  • Provides technical leadership during the design, development, testing and implementation of automation and innovation solutions throughout the business.
  • Manages the support of day-to-day operations of business systems, working collaboratively with other IT support staff, to ensure business operations are maintained and run properly.
  • Manage, update, and oversee all related project portfolio, and project management updates.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
  • Understands the current business processes and software usage with view of future state direction in sight and aligns team members toward future system improvement goals.
  • Ensures that team documents requirements and functional configurations, using standard appropriate IT templates, so that any staff member can use them to support ongoing operations.
  • Monitors to ensure compliance by staff in all change management requests, in partnership with business leads for any new or enhanced functionality to business systems.
  • Manage financial aspects of the IT department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.
  • Negotiate and administer all related vendor software and consultant contracts and associated service agreements.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

C# development (and/or possibly Delphi), Manufacturing, ERP, some analyst skills

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or Information Technology, or related work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years development experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with one or more ERP platforms, with a preference toward Oracle eBusiness.
  • Delphi – can be developer’s choice sometimes with other languages, such as C#, python, etc.
  • Experience with IT technologies and business processes for a manufacturing company.
  • Experience creating innovative solutions for a manufacturing floor, distribution center, and functional departments within the business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to interact professionally and in business language with all levels of business leaders and subject matter experts.

PREFERRED (nice, but not required)

  • Experience with SQL and PL/SQL for support and implementation assistance with technical staff.
  • Experience with OCR and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), preferable UiPath, Esker (this is a nice to have and not required)
  • Experience in robotic, racking, conveyor or other mechanically automation solutions, standalone or integrated into an ERP environment.
  • Experience of technologies performing workflows tasks, web services, REST API, and other integration techniques, either cloud or on-prem.
  • Experience with IoT, RFID, QR codes, and other innovative technologies to create solutions that benefit either internal operations, customer expectations, or both.
  • Experience configuring cloud and on-prem applications to satisfy business requirements.
  • Experience creating solutions in an automotive aftermarket and remanufacturing company.

LOCATION:  DALLAS-FORT WORTH (Las Colinas offices) – not a remote or virtual opportunity

TRAVEL:  This position has global responsibilities, with any travel limited to USA, Canada, and Mexico mostly, and is less than 25% travel required overall.
