Gateway Sourcing is assisting a client in search of a Corporate Controller to support their manufacturing company. This position not only involves extensive cost accounting and financial knowledge, but also effective analytical and communication skills, business acumen, as well as an ability to work effectively and constructively with diverse teams.

Responsibilities:

**This person should have a minimum six years of experience working in a company manufacturing environment as a financial professional.

This position involves managing diverse activities such as general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, ERP projects, cash management, internal control, foreign exchange management, and tax-related accounting. The Controller will standardize accounting policies and drive best practices in cost accounting and other financial matters. The role requires a leader with experience in a global manufacturing environment, strong project management skills, and expertise in financial systems. The Controller will enhance the company’s ability to meet business goals by delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, with a solid technical GAAP accounting skill set and knowledge of standard cost accounting in manufacturing.

Financial Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure financial controls, processes, and reporting meet or exceed audit and regulatory standards.
  • Partner with external auditors to maintain compliance with US GAAP, International Accounting Standards, and financial
  • requirements set by private equity owners and lenders.
  • Oversee financial reporting and compliance initiatives, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial disclosures.

Process Optimization & Strategic Finance Leadership

  • Lead process improvements in the monthly close cycle, reducing cycle time while enhancing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the CAO, CFO, and senior management to develop a finance vision and tactical plan that aligns with North America’s strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement financial systems and reporting tools that provide timely, accurate, and actionable insights for decision-making.

Global Finance & Business Partnership

  • Own the Controller functions for North America, while providing financial leadership and support to the CAO globally.
  • Ensure alignment of global financial operations, considering local business practices, tax laws, and regulatory
  • requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to enhance financial transparency and operational efficiency.

 

Requirements:

  • CPA certification required.
  • MBA or master’s degree in accounting or Tax preferred.
  • Experience in a private equity-backed or publicly traded global manufacturing environment.
  • Big 4 Accounting firm background preferred.
  • Extensive experience in a senior finance leadership role within a decentralized global organization.
  • Expertise in financial process implementation and driving efficiencies across multi-site, multi-country operations.

Technical Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proven experience in compliance initiatives related to audit, tax, and regulatory matters.
  • Exposure to international tax, treasury operations, and financial accounting system implementation is highly beneficial.
