Business Development / Sales  – (Houston, TX market)

Gateway Sourcing is assisting in a search for an experienced industrial sales professional from the oil/gas/chemical industry.  Strong preference for someone with E&I and Controls Systems experience. This person reports to the Sales Manager and working with the VP of Manufacturing developing custom fabricated materials for industrial clients.

Job Description:

  • Using solution-based selling to identify market and customer needs and demonstrate the value of our superior product and service solutions
  • Initiating contacts and building long term relationships with new and existing customers at the corporate/regional executive level
  • Developing new business in addition to identifying cross-sell and up-sell opportunities
  • Maintaining updated knowledge of the company’s products and services and identifying industry trends
  • Travel required; Approximately 20 – 30% a month
  • Visit with customers both at their facilities and at industrial field sites
  • Attend and present at industry trade shows and conferences
  • Engaging with EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) Firms at all levels
  • Managing sales opportunities, sales activities, and maintaining forecasts

REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years of B2B sales experience in industrial markets such as oil & gas, chemical and electric power
  • Associate, Technical or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of Industrial Supply; Electrical, Instrumentation/Control Systems
  • Strong presentation and customer engagement skills at all levels of an organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with individuals at all levels of an organization
  • A history of achieving short and long term goals combined with overall team/company objectives
  • A strong work ethic and the desire to be part of a dynamic sales team working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Candidate must demonstrate job stability, have a proven record of success and professional contacts that can be leveraged immediately.

 

LOCATION: Houston, Texas market.  Work from home office.   Mileage reimbursement for business travel.  Large existing customer base in Houston, but flexibility to develop business elsewhere.  Primarily day travel about 30%.

COMPENSATION:  This is a permanent position with an attractive base and commission structure.  Health benefits are very good with BCBS Platinum plan.  Vision and dental included.  401(k) eligibility after one year.
