Gateway Sourcing is looking for an IT Senior Systems Engineer to help lead a team that is designing, installing, configuring, monitoring, administering and troubleshooting the organization’s computer platforms in order to meet business needs.
This is a great company; well established in the Mobile, AL market. Constant improvements and upgrades to the hardware and software needs of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the security and compliance of cloud infrastructure according to industry standards and company policies.
- Participate in multiple concurrent projects as part of a greater cross-functional team.
- When appropriate, serve as project technical lead, taking ownership of the technical aspects of the solution.
- Work across teams to ensure that the technology achieves the goals of the organization.
- Stay current with Azure product updates and implement new features to enhance our cloud capabilities.
- Work closely with the IT leadership to align cloud operations with the overall technology strategy, design, and configuration of Microsoft 365 environment.
- Installation, configuration and scaling of Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Managed Instances and Azure SQL databases.
- Management, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of cloud IaaS provider environments.
- Managing backups using Veeam’s enterprise backup solutions.
- Assisting Level 2 Support staff with tickets as necessary.
- Assisting and mentoring Level 1 Server ops staff with priority issues and tickets as necessary.
- Assist with developing and/or revising procedures, standards and baseline
- Maintain proper records of hardware, software and network configurations.
- Provide daily and weekly updates regarding outstanding issues and project
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in an IT related curriculum; or a minimum of eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- It is preferred that the IT Systems Administrator be certified in one or more of the following:
- Current MCSA / MCSE / MCITP Certificates or MS’s newer role-based certificates
- Current MCSA / MCSE / MCSD Azure or MS’s newer role-based certificates
- Lead management, or mentorship experience and affinity, mentoring and leading server teams.
- Extensive server administration and Active Directory experience. Strong knowledge and experience with the installation, configuration and troubleshooting servers running modern Microsoft Server operating systems.
- Proven experience in managing Azure cloud environments, including IaaS and PaaS services.
- HIGHLY PREFERRED: Microsoft SCCM experience in cloud environment.
Skills:
- Proficiency with automation tools and scripting languages to automate Windows server configuration changes along with automated user management
- Familiarity with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting servers running modern mainstream Linux server operating systems.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficient authoring and collaborating in MS Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be highly disciplined, self-starter, and leader with the ability to execute on assignments independently, and effectively communicate expectations for all programs/projects being managed.
- Must have good organization, presentation and exceptional time management skills.
- Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to interact with individuals from all levels of the organization.
- Experience with IT governance and infrastructure management preferred.
- Experience with cloud automation and orchestration preferred.
