This is a regionally based company, privately held and making tremendous investments in their infrastructure and personnel. The focus of the Sales Engineer will be to provide technical support to the enterprise account executives and the clients they are supporting. This is the largest privately held wireless company in the country and house the only Tier III data center in the southeast. In addition to their investment in technology, they also differentiate themselves with extreme domestic customer service; 24/7.
Responsibilities:
The Sales Engineer serves as the primary technical resource for the sales team. Responsibilities include working with the sales team and prospective clients to determine technical requirements and conceptualize the network design required in order to fulfill the solution being marketed to the prospective client. The Sales Engineer is also responsible for ensuring all technical information required is communicated into an order. The Sales Engineer will conduct pre-sales site surveys and will also be responsible for training the sales and customer service teams on our products. Must enjoy and have the ability to work successfully in a team environment.
Essential Functions:
- Work with customers and prospects to determine needs, goals, and identify problems
- Conduct pre-sales and/or post-sales customer site surveys
- Work closely and effectively with sales team to develop customer solutions
- Perform technical sales support.
- Demonstrate products at customer/prospect sites
- Conduct product training for sales team and customer service team
- Develop and maintain effective communications and working relationships
- Fully engaged in bringing our strategic vision of personalized service to life
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of 3 years telecommunications work experience required.
- Strong understanding of networking, routing and switching required.
- Experience with network design, Ethernet, fiber optics, MPLS, Alcatel-Lucent TIMOS, TCP/IP, VOIP, SIP, and WiFi, are desired.
- Excellent personal computer skills are required within Windows, Excel, Word, Vizio, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to learn a technical product or service and effectively sell or support that product.
- Versatile relationship skills in order to maintain relationships with our account base.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills that will provide ability to manage multiple projects
Additional requirements:
Due to the nature of this position, all candidates must have:
- A dependable vehicle
- A clean driving record free of DWI/DUI (within the past 5 years)
- Few if any moving vehicle violations (e.g. speeding tickets)
- A clean drug screening test
- Must work some evenings and Saturdays when requested.
- Must be able to work in office environment and also work outside and traverse varied terrain in adverse weather conditions.
Location: Jackson, MS
Travel: Travel is approximately 50%, with seldom overnight.
Compensation: Compensation is $65 K+ commensurate with experience; plus a revenue bonus structure. This client also provides attractive employee benefits including Medical / Dental, and 401K, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement and a $500 monthly car allowance is included to cover all gas and maintenance of your vehicle.
