Outstanding career opportunity for a proven IT Project Manager. This privately held telecom and information company is growing by leaps and bounds! The focus of the Project Manager will be to drive the completion of high-priority, complex, and large-scale strategic corporate initiatives, which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration, while maintaining quality standards.
This position requires strong leadership and excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate with diverse project team members and stakeholders across the organization, and is experienced in project planning and execution including: scope definition and management, task and resource scheduling, cost and price budgeting, quality review and assurance, change management, risk/issue management, supports contract negotiations as needed, and manages project stakeholders and team members throughout the full project life cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Actively engaged as an employee advocate and fully committed to supporting our strategic vision
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of multiple simultaneous projects to ensure overall quality, completeness and schedule adherence. Lead and manage project scope, change control, and action item tracking throughout the entire project life cycle; projects differ in type, size, and complexity.
- Apply appropriate project management methodologies, processes, and standards; remain abreast of and share best practices and techniques to effectively plan and manage cross-functional, multi-work streamed projects.
- Utilize project management/business software, applications, and solutions to create, schedule, and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Identify and request appropriate project resources and assign responsibility for individual tasks; analyze and report project resource consumption and resolve related issues. Manage cross-functional resources, vendors, and contractors to ensure timely completion of assignments. Support vendor relationship management and participate in contract negotiation/management as needed.
- Identify and elicit project risks and issues; resolve and/or escalate project issues in a timely fashion.
- Capture project metrics to provide deep analysis of project performance and impact projections.
- Create documentation to ensure timely project reporting; effectively communicate relevant project information to all project stakeholders. Ensure project documents are accurate, complete, current, and properly stored throughout the project lifecycle.
- Continually seek opportunities for individual and collective project manager improvement and make constructive suggestions for on-going leadership, management, and professional development.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 4 years formal Project Management experience is required.
- Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams
- PMP certification required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and computer skills
- Experience with Project Management software (MS Project/SharePoint) preferred.
- Must have strong problem solving skills and high level of initiative.
- Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Location: Ridgeland, MS. Relocation may be available.
