Hot Tech Skills!

Do you ever listen to the “experts” talk about the condition of the US economy and wonder what you just heard?  I certainly do.  First of all I try to consider the source and determine whether or not there is a political angle that they are promoting.  Then I look at market data (employment figures, commodity price shifts, international concerns,  etc.)  There are obviously a lot of moving variables, and interpretation of variables, and the best you can hope for is an educated guess and a Hail Mary.  If you want to get really cleaver, you can try to reverse engineer an opportunity.  Consider Newton’s Third Law…  “equal and opposite reaction”.  Like when the stock market goes up, the bond market goes down (and vice versa).

As the job market ebbs and flows with the economic conditions, some disciplines remain fairly strong.  The world has made such an investment in technology that those who continue to evolve within the discipline will be in demand for their knowledge, insight and abilities.
